Open Sky Madrid will open its doors in Torrejón de Ardoz in April 2020, becoming the largest leisure centre in the capital.
Next April, will open its doors in Torrejón de Ardoz the largest leisure center in the Community of Madrid. This is a project of the Phalsbourg Company that promises to become one of the most innovative leisure proposals in the capital. Its president in Spain, Raphaël Martin, has assured this morning in his official presentation that it is a bet that offers a completely innovative concept of leisure and shopping, based on the success of the international business model implemented by the French subsidiary.
This bet becomes the first Open Sky of the Company of Phalsbourg in Spain, which presents a marketing rate reached to date of 75%. The new establishment will offer more than 1,000 jobs, of which at least 50% will be reserved for the local inhabitants of Torrejón de Ardoz.
The investment for the project has been 157 M euros and will have an area of more than 90,000 m2 of SBA, thus becoming a real ‘place to be’ that is born with a vocation to consolidate as the most modern in Madrid and one of the most glamorous in Europe. Another of its great attractions will be its lake, in the heart of the shopping centre, which will have 10,000m2 for leisure activities or to enjoy wonderful views. It will also have a beach club with a private beach, Jacuzzi and swimming pool, a children’s area, 32 bars and restaurants, a wind tunnel over the terrace at height and much more. In addition, the Open Sky will provide companies with exclusive spaces for events: from coworking halls to a stage for concerts and a VIP lounge.
“This is a very complete and modern space of more than 90,000 m2, with 114 premises and nearly 4,000 parking spaces, designed to enjoy much more than shopping and spend quality time with family and friends in a unique space,” says Raphael Martin, who has also commented on other points such as the importance for the project to become a sustainable space and within the standard of healthy spaces WELL.
The mall will also have The Village, an extension that promises to become a reference space in Spain. The investment for this part of the project is 70 M. euros, with an area and shops of 21,500 m2 of SBA. Undoubtedly, an innovative space inspired by the success of its predecessor in France, Villefontaine, which has won multiple architectural awards: -World Mapic Award 2018 – Best Outlet Center, the World Architecture Award 30th cycle 2019 – Built Projects, The Plan Award 2019 Completed Retail Project, the Architizer A+Award 2019 – Commercial Shopping center and the CNCC award 2019.
