Dr. Mariemma I. Yagüe is the Academic Secretary of the Faculty of Tourism at University of Malaga and main responsible for the Quality Assurance of the different degree and post-degree studies at the Faculty.

From May 2016 until November 2018, she was the Academic Director of the bachelor’s degree programme on Tourism. She is relevant member of the Official Committee for designing the new official bachelor’s degree programme on Gastronomic Sciences and Hospitality Management (Grado en Ciencias Gastronómicas y Gestión Hotelera), and also the Academic Coordinator of this new bachelor degree at the Tourism Faculty of Malaga University. She has great experience on the organization of syllabi in the gastronomic tourism area for specialized training, and collaborates with the Innovation Gastrocampus, supported by the University of Malaga to promote gastronomy through the Faculty of Tourism. Additionally, she is the Director of the Cátedra Fundación Mahou San Miguel, an agreement signed by University of Malaga and Fundación Mahou San Miguel, focused on two objectives: skills improvement of food and beverage industry professionals, and employability of young people. She is the author of more than 15 published works at well-known conferences and JCR journals, and has gained recognition for 6 years of international-quality research (sexenio de investigación). Her research interests are in the Smart Tourism Area, especially in Tourism and Gastronomy topics, with experience on gastronomic tourism speeches at well-known meetings.
