Husam Taj Eddin

I’ve always been a self-employed individual. My career in tourism started when I became an Owner/General Manager of

my own tourism company in Syria back in 1996 before I settled in Dubai in 2004.

I got a tour guide license from Department of Tourism in Dubai in 2004, followed by another license in Abu Dhabi. After getting an experience as a tour guide & attaining knowledge in UAE history & tourism, I then went ahead and established my own company and in 2005, Luxuria Tours was launched.

I studied Master of Business Administration in Tourism and Bachelor of Economics, Business Administration in Syria. When I transferred in Dubai, I later on studied International Advance Diploma in Tourism & Travel & Hospitality Management from PEARSON, earned a Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Management, CTH, and a DTEC Certificate from Department of Dubai Tourism & Commerce Marketing from EDEXCEL.

As an official affiliate member in United Nation World Tourism Organization UNWTO, I implement the organization objective & targets to achieve the main target in sustainable tourism and other programs that the organization carrying off such as gastronomy & shopping tourism networks, and coordinate with the rest of other members around the world to get the best practices in sustainable tourism and tourism ethics.

Apart from the tourism industry, I’m also involved with different media outlets which started in 1993 in Syria wherein Iwas fortunate enough to write for different newspapers and magazines in both Syria & Lebanon.

When I moved to UAE, I was able to work with different media organizations as well such as Abu Dhabi TV, for a program Mission Al Emarat. I was tasked not only as a historical and cultural researcher but was also a Manager in charge of preparation & locations. In addition to this, I’ve also attended different programs with Norwegian, German & Canadian TV as a tourism and cultural researcher and consultant.

Since 1991, I’ve volunteered and participated as a member of the Syrian Red Crescent Organization and later on became a member in the executive board. Apart from that, I was also a member of Children’s Villages Association SOS, also inSyria. Through my memberships, I’ve managed to participate in organizing charity markets, concerts, fundraisers and various programs for the community.

I’m also currently a proud member of the UAE Red Crescent. My current aim with UAE Red Crescent is to develop special charity programs for children and families that involve interactive activities and to develop the concept of sustainable tourism in our communities.
