Barcelona Tourism has started this Friday a new season of the route ‘Genuine’ to promote the most authentic and emblematic trade of the city, which presents the trade of the Catalan capital as the living history of the city.
Tourism of Barcelona has reported that it aims to highlight the particularities of the commercial fabric of the city and its identity.
In these itineraries are visited commercial establishments of different specialties, shops of Catalan brands, workshops where they work with ecological materials and centenary shops that still retain part of their furniture and ways of doing before.
The initiative is part of the Barcelona Shopping City programme to boost the city’s image as a quality shopping destination.
The main novelties of this new season are the incorporation of new establishments such as Calpe, of leather goods; Etnia Barcelona, in Born; the veganaCuco shop, of sustainable fashion; Ozz Barcelona, and the emblematic bakery La Colmena, as well as El Rey de la Magia; Nayade-Joidart, of craftsmanship, and Concha Blanch, of stamping on silk and fans.
The route is the embryo of a wider project that began in 2018 under the seal ‘Barcelona Unique Shops’, an initiative promoted by Barcelona Tourism with the participation and support of the Directorate of Commerce of the City Council, and the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce and the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion (CCAM) and Barcelona Open.
