Ardoaraba program that marida shopping and wine tastings

Sixteen stores in Vitoria (Spain) will show their new products for Christmas and will offer tastings on Thursday and Friday with wineries that will participate in the fair.

Ardoaraba, the great festival of Alava’s wine, which turns the capital into an oenological and gastronomic scene of reference in the Basque Country, will be held this year from 5 to 8 December. But to warm up engines next Thursday and Friday the wineries will already have a leading role in Vitoria, in a pairing with shops associated with Gasteiz On. A total of sixteen establishments will take advantage of the afternoons of both days to offer some of their main novelties and trends for the Christmas shopping period, and at the same time give their customers the opportunity to taste wines while shopping.

Ten shops and as many wineries will open the ‘shop&wine’ initiative on Thursday. They will be Librería ArleKin with Viñedos Berarte de Villabuena, Viajes Arena with Eguren Ugarte (Laguardia), the Naiara Elejalde beauty centre with Bodegas Lavalle (Navaridas), Domaica Joyero with Eguren Ugarte, José Luis Ópticos with Arzabro Txakolina (Delika), Mobb Gifts with Bodegas Miguel Ángel Muro (Lapuebla de Labarca), Muscari Floristas con Gontés (Labastida), the decoration shop Susana Armas con Sidrería Kuartango, the fashion shop Txik Txak with Dominio de Berzal (Baños de Ebro) and Almacenes Caype with Ezkiwines (Viñaspre-Lanciego).

On Friday it will be the turn of Punto de Vista and Idea Papel Tijera – businesses in Herrería Street dedicated to window dressing, design and communication – with wines from Bodegas Tierra de Labastida, Floristería Arantza with Trebiñu Sagardotegia, the Violenta Marengo clothing store with Txakoli Txikubin (Murga-Ayala), O’Carallo Productos Gallegos with the wine signature of its land Valtea, the lighting trade Ibáñez Arana with Bodegas Amador García (Baños), Moda María Jesús with Arabarte (Villabuena) and also Almacenes Caype which repeats, although with another winery, El Hombre Orquesta (Labastida).

These sixteen shops will have the opportunity to maintain until 8 December, Ardoaraba’s last day, the offer to try the wines in their stores as another attraction.

The great Alava wine festival will take place in the squares of the Fueros, Machete and Diputación, where the tents will be set up again. The organization aspires to surpass the round figure of 100,000 visitors, a goal that has been very close in recent years and hopes to surpass in 2019. Fifteen Rioja Alavesa wineries, half a dozen txakoli and two cider wineries took part in the 2018 edition.

In addition, catering establishments in Vitoria will also be present with different gastronomic proposals such as pintxos, cazuelitas and even special menus. Everything to attract the largest number of people and also the tourists who visit the city on the December holiday.
